The continuously increasing requirements for environmental protection mean further decreasing threshold values for sulfur or nitrogen in fuels. Instruments for measuring these components have to correspond to these future requirements in their performance. The method of determining is a direct the dosing of liquid or gaseous samples by using the catalytic combustion at high temperature up to 1150 ° C and subsequent determination of sulfur dioxide by using UV fluorescence detector,  the determination of nitric oxide by using chemiluminescent detector (CLD).

  • The liquid autosampler Vario Liquid Sampler (VLS), does not require operator intervention and can be fitted with a thermostat. Autosampler VLS can hold up to 50 standard vials of 1.5 ml. The feed rate of the sample into the tube combustion:: 40 µl/sec.

The maximum sample volumes up to 100 µl of liquid samples, or 10 ml for sample gas. Time of dosing only a few seconds at full combustion provides a particularly sharp peaks.

Technology«Purge-and-Trap» (optional): To improve the reproducibility of the results, as well as traces of sulfur analysis on the background of a large amount of nitrogen can be installed adsorption column for sulfur dioxide to separate it from a peak of nitrogen dioxide.

Necessary gases:

  • for the determination of sulfur: synthetic air, free of SO2 and CO2
  • for the determination of nitrogen: a mixture of oxygen (20%) and argon (80%), without nitrogen impurities.
